Typing? In this economy?

Thought is a flow. Typing dams it up — the sentence in your head is long finished while your fingers are still catching up. Piku keeps the flow moving: you talk, and it’s already written — cleaned up and dropped right where your cursor is.

Wherever you already work.

Wording a prompt for your AI agent for the third time. The Slack reply. The email you’ve been dreading since 9am. A thought before it’s gone. Piku works in any app with a cursor — so, all of them.

Private by design

Your words stay yours.

Your voice and data never leave your Mac. Speech is transcribed on your device, and the recording is discarded the moment it becomes text — no pile of voice memos sitting around.

And you stay in control of what’s kept: choose whether Piku remembers your recent dictations at all, for how long, and lock your history behind Touch ID if you like.

The stuff you dictate is exactly the stuff you’d never paste into someone else’s cloud. With Piku, you don’t have to.

FAQ

Fair questions.

Is Piku really private?

Yes. Piku transcribes your voice with an on-device model and deletes the recording as soon as it becomes text. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

Does it work offline?

Yes — the core dictation runs fully on your Mac, no internet needed.

What does it cost?

Piku is free forever for individuals, every feature included. Team features come later.

Which Mac do I need?

A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or newer.

What languages does it understand?

German and English at launch, with more to follow.

Which apps does it work in?

Any app with a text cursor — editors, terminals, browsers, chat, email.

Is it on the Mac App Store?

No — you download Piku directly from piku.studio. App Store apps aren’t allowed to type into other apps, and that’s Piku’s whole job.

Does Escape delete my recording?

Never — Escape saves and transcribes without pasting, so a long dictation is never lost.
